Hello kitties!!! A few weeks ago I was asked to be part of RAW:natural born artists, which is an independent arts organization that hand-selects and spotlights independent creatives in visual art, film, fashion, music, hair & makeup artistry, photography, models and performing art.

Here's a peak at what RAW is all about: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uqotKEnHqMg&feature=youtu.be

'RAW's mission is to provide up-and-coming artists of all creative realms with the tools, resources and exposure needed to inspire and cultivate creativity so that they might be seen, heard and loved. RAW educates, connects and exposes emerging artists in 54 artistic communities across the United States and Australia, through monthly showcase events.'

If you're in the Connecticut area, please stop by this amazing event on Thursday June 7th at The Russian Lady in Hartford, starts at 8:00. There will be live music, art, dancers, and fashion show! Please support your local art, and purchase tickets here! $10 in advance, price will increase to $15 at the door! I will be creating the hair for the fashion show, which features CT clothing/accessory designers!! Amazing! Purchase a ticket in support of The Vicious Kitty
Well, wedding and prom season is upon us! I'm going to try to make a few posts about these special events over the next few days. Here's an updo from a recent wedding. This updo is great for really thick/long hair. It's basically a mix of traditional and 4-stranded braids taken in diagonal sections of the head, then twisted together and formed into a bun on the side of the head.

I'm getting super excited for summer in the next few months and it's only fitting I post a fun summer hairstyle. There are so many braiding techniques that with your own creative twist you can create an infinite amount of interesting styles. Here is a simple waterfall braid I did on one side of my head. Try it out and find your style!
Happy 2012! A little late, I know...Life has been crazy busy and I have been lacking on updates. I've been saying that for a while now. But I've come to realize that life will never slow down, though I am pretty psyched about that. The busier I am doing the things I love, the more life becomes exciting. The years seem to fly by, so it's important to fill that time wisely, with happiness and doing what you love. Expect to see new work, ventures, and updates from The Vicious Kitty this year!

Happy fall everyone! Here's a little preview of the new jewelry to come! I decided for the new line I really needed to 'kick it up a notch' and push my creative boundaries. Well so far I am quite happy with the results and inspired to keep pushing myself. This necklace is probably one of my favorite pieces I've made and variations of this model are available for purchase in my store! I decided I wanted to make each of these necklaces unique so if you order the necklace pictured, don't expect to get an exact duplicate. There may be slight variations to how the keys are arranged, the keyhole lock, etc. Click on the picture to be taken to my store!

It's that time again, the summer is starting to come to end...Where did it go???? Well, don't get too bummed out, I've got something to lift your spirits. Right NOW, ALL jewelry in my store is listed at 20% OFF!! Don't miss out!!! I will be posting new stuff in the fall, so all the summer designs must go!!!

I recently had the opportunity to do hair for Annie Nguyen's fashion show that took place in West Hartford last weekend. It was awesome to be part of and her dresses and gowns were amazing! This chica has so much talent, not to mention she makes every single piece herself. The show was full of performers, some of which I got some video of and will be posting in the near future. All of the models were beautiful and it was a blast to be a part of. Here are a few behind the scenes and runway shots!

Now that my hair is FINALLY longer I can do so many more fun styles! I've had short hair for so long and decided about a year ago to grow it out! It was tough, but I stuck through the awkward grow out and am happy to have some length to work with!! Anyways, every now and then I post pictures of upstyles I do on myself on The Vicious Kitty's facebook page (You should 'like' it!!). So I decided to update this as well!

I try to mix things up, but I really love classic looks from the 1920's right through the 1960's.  I love curls, pompadours, victory rolls, and the era when women used to set their hair in rollers each night then tease it the next day, taking the time to truly dress their hair. Obviously trends change as time goes by, but every great updo is still built upon these foundations.
