Hello, and Happy New Year!! As promised I will be posting some custom orders that I worked on over the past month or so. These four pieces were custom designed for a talented CT based photographer by the name of Aurora Onorato (Aurora Photography). She asked me to design four pieces for her four assistants. So I've been talking about some new projects that I have been taking on as The Vicious Kitty is expanding. I love being creative and making jewelry has been such a fun way to express that. I have found yet another way to express my creativity...Hairstyling. I will be finishing up the cosmetology program at the end of February, and in the meantime have been working on my portfolio.  About a month ago I had an opportunity to work alongside some very talented CT based photographers and models on a shoot-out. It was a busy night consisting of 2-3 different 'looks' for about 10 models while 20-30 photographers captured their own vision with the models. The hairstylists and makeup artists basically had free artistic direction when it came to each look, so everyone's creative juices were flowing. So I haven't updated in the past 2 weeks, but it doesn't mean I haven't been producing new work. I've actually been working on a number of custom Christmas orders. Unfortunately I cannot post any of them yet, well because they haven't reached the customers' hands yet and I don't want to ruin the surprise for them. I promise I will post them as soon as I can! I have been busy with some other projects, involving yours truly styling hair. Again, I will post pictures and and explain in more detail my new ventures in the works. You may have noticed there is now a new 'hair' section that has been added, and in the next few weeks I will be launching the new project. As for now you'll have to sit tight, but please stay tuned. I am trying my hardest to keep everything updated and fresh in spite of the work I still have yet to finish. Just figured I take a break to update you! Don't forget to join the mailing list. Here is one of the latest pieces I made for an upcoming photo shoot. This item is not yet available in my shop, since it is a custom piece and I have not yet decided if it will be for sale. I will make a similar piece upon request. Please be aware that it will not be an exact copy as colors and materials used do vary. Anyways, this necklace is one of my favorites and is designed to sit just below the collarbone. Lately I have been inspired by this style since it is flattering when worn with an open collar. So whether you have a scoop neck tee or that sexy little dress you've been waiting to wear, this piece is quite versatile. This funky piece is made from film that has been burned, shaped, and sealed. I then created the colorful spectrum using acrylic paint and various magazine clippings. It is sealed with a glossy clear coat for extended life. Enjoy!! Happy Saturday! Here's a necklace I recently made for my friend's birthday. It's a simple, vintage design that is made to sit just below the collar bone. I like the pewter, almost tarnished look of the birds, contrasted by the bright yellow bumble bees, which were actually cute little buttons. She enjoyed it and I hope you will too! Hello, again!! So here's another post in the same week...I'm going to try to update a few times a week to keep you in the loop of what's going on. As I've stated in a recent blog, I will be posting new work very soon, and there are so many goodies coming your way, I am soo excited! I'm working hard these days to put together a new collection. I know I said The Vicious Kitty would be focusing mainly on custom orders, but I still can't resist making some little trinkets on the side. Think colorful and big jewelry... So keep an eye out! I am also a hairstylist, so a photoshoot is in the works that will fuse my new jewelry with some funky hairstyles. And in the next few months I will be launching a new fashion project and yours truly will be available for styling events. Well it's off to bed...it's sooo cold here. Well it's already October, and we are well into fall. Before you know it, Christmas will be here along with the new year. With the tough economy it can sometimes be hard to find that perfect, personalized gift for our friends and family. Maybe this year you should try a handmade, unique gift that can't be found in a department store. I am now happily accepting custom orders for the holiday season. You make think it's a little early but the holidays sure do creep up on us fast, and I want to make sure I can get you your customized order in time for Christmas. So it's been a long time since I have had a formal update. 3 months. I apologize for lack of updates and new work, but I have been extremely busy now that I am going to school and working. I am still working on jewelry but mainly focusing on custom orders as they come in. I know in the past I have posted new lines/themes for the spring, summer, fall, etc. but right now I don't have the time to work on such intense projects. I really wish I could. Wow. I haven't updated for a while. I had the flu a few weeks ago and it really knocked me on my butt, I am finally back to feeling like myself again and have my energy back. Today marks March 1st and guess what? We are supposed to get a Noreaster that will dump anywhere from 6-12"!!! Seriously. I am so sick of winter and need warm weather and sunny skies.  |
